Snowboarding

Would You Watch This Movie?

Revenge Movie Poster.jpg

It's easy to forget that funnyman Tom Green's roots originate in skateboarding.  It isn't hard to tell between his lanky frame, goofy personality, his attempts at becoming a white rapper, and the fact that he skates in a lot of his films and clips.  With Jackass member Dave England at his side, the two C-listers released a straight-to-DVD movie called Revenge of the Boarding School Dropouts.

The World's First Snowboarding-Only Resort? Here's Your Chance

Stowe Mountain Resort.jpg

With the global economy still in turmoil, amazing pieces of land are continually popping up in the real estate market.  Case in point: AIG, which owns Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont, has put it up for sale.  And with three resorts in the U.S. still ski-only, here's a chance for a savvy investor to even the score.

Liko Smith is in Deep Shit

The Block.jpg

Our history with Liko Smith traces back to the dawn of The Extreme Scene.  When the show first started nearly six years ago, Liko and Mark Frank Montoya invited us up to South Lake Tahoe for the debut of their hotel collaboration, the world's first snowboarding hotel The Block.  Things have turned south for Liko and MFM, as both The Block and its sister motel Cedar Lodge have been closed since December after Liko failed to pay nearly $200,000 in South Lake Tahoe city taxes.

The Price is Right for Flow

Flow Price is Right.jpg

The price ain't wrong for Flow Snowboarding.  For the second straight week, Drew Carey's The Price is Right is once again gracing the front page of TheExtremeScene.com.  This time, it's because the folks over at Flow Snowboarding are going to have some of their products on the Wednesday, May 20th show.

Rookie Academy is a Huge Scam

Rookie Gallery.jpg

Our boy Avran over at AngrySnowboarder.com passed along a story that should disgust anyone who doesn't have a greedy bone in their body. It involves an organization called Rookie Academy that trains snowboarders to be certified snowboarding coaches. Problem is, you don't need to be certified to teach people how to snowboard, and Rookie Academy charges people a staggering $15,000 for a miserable winter experience.

Leanne Pelosi, We Want You

Leanne Pelosi Rockstar.jpg

Danny Kass' Grenade Games went off a couple of weeks back up in Whistler, B.C., and in the midst of all the drunken revelry came two notes worthy of mention: Canadian Craig Beaulius won the actual event and took home $10,001, and Leanne Pelosi is now numero uno on our most wanted list

Pics of Pelosi, and other riders, partying their asses off after the jump.

Shaun White Snowboarding Sells Over 3,000,000 Copies

SW SB.jpg

Has anyone out there had the chance to play the Shaun White Snowboarding video game? I remember hearing about it a while ago, but usually when I don't hear people talking about a game, it isn't all that good. Which is why I was rather surprised when our boy Tracy Anderson revealed that Shaun White Snowboarding has sold over three million copies.

Surfer, Surfing, Skateboarder, Snowboarder and Five Other Magazines in Deep Shit

Source Interlink, the parent company for numerous action sports publications, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy yesterday, keeping the companies alive but screwing investors and creditors out of stocks and money owed to them. The bankruptcy is further proof that print media is in serious trouble.
