The Billabong XXL awards were last Friday night and I'm still recovering. What a great vibe and fun event. The XXL crew brings it every year and that's coming from me, who by now I would think might be considered a drunken DJ industry party connoisseur.
It was my second year in a row that I got to DJ the event and wow what a party. From the girls dressed in next to nothing to the wasted antics of industry peeps letting loose it's the party of the year to go to in my book. Much less pretentious then the infamous Surfer Poll awards and way less not cool guy trying to be fashion cool guy that I've come to expect at ASR parties! Highlights for me were definitely Occy just being the slightly tipsy kind hearted legend that he is and how positive it is to see Greg Long being rewarded for how hard he wants every big wave ride that he gets. A class act spokes men for the sport of surfing for sure!
