When one thinks of Great Whites Sharks breaching the water, one normally references such frightful images of the Great Whites that reside in the waters off South Africa. Aggressive, mean Great Whites that breach the water to catch seals and other prey. Either one of said Great Whites decided to meander all the way to the Pacific Ocean waters off the coast of Santa Monica, CA, or said Great Whites are evolving.

Randy White of Horizon’s West Surf Shop, upon hearing about sightings of a possible Great White breaching, decided to take out a kayak to see if he could catch the phenomena on camera.  And sure enough, White heard a swooshing noise in the direction of Bel Air Bay Club, and started snapping his camera.

White said the Great White breached multiple times.  Since White’s encounter, over 20 reports of a shark breaching off the Sunset Beach coast have been submitted.  Craziness.
